I haven’t always sold peas and I’m still not quite sure how I got into the pea business. I’m a lawyer. I’m supposed to be practicing law, preparing pleadings, and meeting with hot shot clients.

Not selling peas.

I have something something so many people sacrifice so much for. I have a J.D. degree from a top tier law school and I am a member of the Colorado State Bar.

And I walked away from it. To sell peas.

Some people– okay, most people, especially my Father– will call me crazy and won’t understand. I’ve been on a journey to re-create my life.

What most people called “successful” didn’t make me happy. My journey has led to a whole new “me” and has led me to sell peas to help others get the second chance that I had. This is the beginning of my journey.

And I am so much happier.

What is Social Media Breakfast Atlanta?

We are all business professionals who use online networking to meet new people, establish and develop new alliances, plan events, provide resources and much more. Our regular attendees include graphic artists and bloggers but also includes insurance agents, chefs, small business owners, real estate agents, bankers and much more. The only reason not to attend is that you just already have enough friends!

We start the meeting at 8AM but networking begins as early as 7:30. At 8AM we are eating, sipping coffee (please support the venue by buying at least a coffee or tea), and spending one on one time with one another. Generally we have one or two presenters who take about 10 minutes to share about their success with online networking but we also have people who can explain why colors are important, how choosing the right logo for your business can make all the difference in the world, and even people who can tell you how to network with a blood drive. Not joking!

Community Giving

Starting with this August event we are going to be raising money every meeting to go to a specific charity and our charity this month is MUST - Marietta United in Service and Training. Ken Cook, founder of the NW Atlanta SMB, has volunteered with MUST in the past and believes in what they do. One of the project we can really get behind is their making sure school aged children in their program have food, clothing and school supplies. Your donation here will go into the pot and we will present a check to MUST either at or shortly after the event. We will present at the event if we raise enough to make it worth their time to come.
